CTM assists Norden A/S in loading their new FTS
Last week, members from our Technical and Logistical departments assisted our clients at Norden A/S in loading their new Floating Transfer Station (FTS) Nord Gabon onto a Heavy Lift vessel in Qinzhou, China.
CTM personnel were able to successfully coordinate with all parties involved in the heavy lift operation. These parties included Guangzhou Salvage, DNV, and Interprogetti.
FTS Nord Gabon, weighing about 4,700 metric tonnes, was loaded successfully onto the Heavy Lift vessel M/V Hua Sheng Long on 29 September 2023. She then departed from the load port on 2 October 2023, after completion of the required sea fastening and without any reported delays.
This was part of the technical management agreement awarded by Norden A/S to CTM for the FTS Nord Gabon. Our personnel, along with a select team of experienced crew members, attended the final construction and commissioning stages of the FTS Nord Gabon at Qinzhou Shipyard for familiarisation and to be ready for the transhipment operations in Gabon.
CTM personnel will also coordinate the load-off operations of the FTS Nord Gabon in Gabon from the Heavy Lift vessel, which is expected to be around mid-November.
CTM was awarded the technical management agreement from Norden A/S in June 2023. CTM was selected due to our technical management team’s prior experience in conducting these operations.
The agreement covers the maintenance and manning of the newly built FTS Nord Gabon, operated by Norden A/S, under their contract with Comilog to export manganese ore from Owendo/Gabon.
