Delivery of M/V Aquadonna

Welcoming the M/V Aquadonna to the fleet

CTM is pleased to announce that yesterday, 1 August 2024, CTM took delivery of the M/V Aquadonna, a 63,500 dwt newbuilding Ultramax bulk carrier built at the Imabari shipyard in Japan.

Our CCO, Mr. Carlos Pena, and Capt. Marco Parodi, a member of our operations management team, attended her naming ceremony.

The vessel has been taken in on a long-term time charter from Japanese Owners and will join the Supramax RSA pool. It will contribute to our efforts to rejuvenate our fleet so that we can continue to provide our clients with our leading services for years to come.

The name M/V Aquadonna holds a special significance for us at CTM. This is the third vessel we have managed to bear the name. The first was a second hand vessel bought and named by our CEO’s grandfather, the late great John M. Carras, in 1997. Both prior vessels were capesize’s built in 1995 and 2005, respectively, and the last Aquadonna exited our management in 2022.

CTM currently manages a fleet of over 110 bulk carriers under our Commercial and Technical management, ranging from Handysize to Newcastlemax.

Last year (2023), the Supramax RSA celebrated its 10th anniversary. During that time, we managed over 170 vessels, generated over $2.2 billion in revenue, carried over 191 million tonnes of cargo, concluded over 3,300 fixtures, and fixed vessels out for over 167,000 days.
