M/V Maple Harbour aides the crew of the M/V Run Fu 3
We are proud to announce that the M/V Maple Harbour and her crew participated in the rescue of the crew from the M/V Run Fu 3 while navigating through the Indian Ocean on the morning of June 11, 2025.
The M/V Maple Harbour is currently commercially managed by us and is part of our Supramax RSA Fleet from Stone Shipping Ltd’s chartered-in fleet of vessels.
How the rescue unfolded
While transiting the Indian Ocean, the crew of the M/V Maple Harbour received an urgent message from the M/V Run Fu 3 at 02:45 AM local time (LT). The M/V Run Fu 3 reported that one of its holds had started taking on water and required assistance.
Upon learning that they were the closest vessel available, the crew of the M/V Maple Harbour changed course to meet the M/V Run Fu 3 and arrived at her location around 5:30 AM LT.

The crew of the M/V Run Fu 3 did everything possible to save their vessel, but at 08:15 AM LT, their captain made the decision to abandon ship. The 23 crew members then boarded the vessel’s two life rafts and were subsequently rescued by the M/V Maple Harbour.

Once all crew members from the M/V Run Fu 3 were safely on board the M/V Maple Harbour, the vessel headed to Port Louis, Mauritius, where the rescued crew safely disembarked before continuing with its operations.

The crew of the M/V Maple Harbour demonstrated remarkable attentiveness and a proactive approach, prioritising the safety of their fellow seafarers during a critical time. This commendable behaviour reflects positively on the vessel’s owners, as well as their training and seamanship. We at CTM are thrilled to have such an excellent crew as part of our commercially managed fleet of vessels.
